2021 KAWASAKI UTVs

The first wave of 2021 Kawasaki UTVs are here with new color schemes but no performance updates. Check out the Kawasakis’ new looks while we refresh you on their technical highlights.

TERYX KRX 1000

TERYX KRX 1000

The sportiest of the 2021 Kawasaki UTVs is the Teryx KRX 1000. For 2021, it’s available in a new Vibrant Blue/Metallic Onyx Black color choice, in addition to Lime Green Metallic/Onyx Black. The $20,499 price and mechanical details are the same as the 2020 model. Here are the technical highlights on the Kawasaki KRX 1000:

—The Teryx KRX 1000 is powered by a naturally aspirated, 999cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke parallel-twin engine with 112 horsepower. It’s respectably powerful and very controllable. The Kawasaki uses a rear-engine layout and front-mounted radiator like many sport UTVs.

—A fully automatic CVT with centrifugal clutch is one of the keys to the Kawasaki’s tractable power delivery. It also provides predictable engine braking and prolongs drive-belt life.

—Two power modes allow the driver to set power delivery to suit preference and conditions. Full power mode delivers quicker more powerful engine response. Low power mode is ideal for low-speed control in technical terrain.

—The Kawasaki has dual-A-arm front suspension and trailing-arm rear suspension with compression and spring preload-adjustable Fox 2.5 Podium shocks. There’s 19 inches of travel up front and 21 in the rear.

—Features including a very roomy cabin, 31-inch tires on 15-inch beadlock wheels, instrumentation with a belt-temperature gauge, a convenient oil-level sight window and steel skid plates set the KRX 1000 apart from other sport UTVs

TERYX LE

TERYX & TERYX4

Kawasaki’s Teryx and four-seat Teryx4 are sporty recreation machines powered by a 783cc, single-overhead-cam, eight-valve V-twin. Teryx models have large storage bins behind the seats and a tilting cargo bed. Teryx4s have a fixed cargo bed. For 2021 the Teryx and Teryx4 are available in new Pearl Neon Yellow, Metallic Graystone and Vibrant Blue color choices. Both use a fully automatic belt-type transmission with a centrifugal clutch that provides precise power delivery, protects the belt and provides engine braking.

Double-A-arm front and rear suspension with 8 inches of travel up front and 8.3 inches in the rear handle the bumps. Compression- and spring preload-adjustable Fox 2.0 piggyback reservoir shocks are used front and rear.

The Teryx and Teryx4 are available in base, camo and LE models. All models have power steering. LE models come with painted bodywork, 14-inch aluminum wheels with 27-inch tires and a roof.
