2021 UTV JAMBOREES ON SCHEDULE
COVID-19 wreaked havoc on 2020 UTV jamborees, but the good news is that the lockdowns gave promoters plenty of time to work on keeping 2021 UTV jamborees on schedule. The virus has spurred a huge interest in UTV recreation in general, and dealer sales have been through the roof, and people are snapping up UTVs without even test driving them. Friends and neighbors of new UTV owners steer them to local riding areas, but many newbies are only getting part of the UTV recreational experience. That’s where UTV jamborees come into the picture. They’re like a convention without the convention center.
Daily guided rides in exotic parts of the country, manufacturer demo rides of the latest sport and recreation UTVs, vendor displays exhibiting new products and jamboree specials, installation services, UTV competitions (including Show-n-Shines, product raffles and giveaways), and meeting like-minded enthusiasts are only part of what the major jamborees have to offer. OHV recreation areas across the country host one or more jamborees a year with thousands of attendees. Here are the major jamborees to consider for 2021.
HIGH LIFTER MUD NATIONALS
Each jamboree season starts with the granddaddy of mud festivals, so reserve April 7–11 for the High Lifter Mud Nationals at Hillarosa ATV Park in Blevins, Arkansas. This relatively new venue hosts the longest-running mudfest, featuring the Bounty Hole mud pit, Tug-O-Wars, UTV short-course races for turbo and non-turbo classes with a $20,000 purse, a sponsored poker run, meet-and-greet with powersports icons, concerts, an after-party, daily prizes, industry and food vendors, camping and much more. Tickets are $75 per person, and camping starts at $40. See www.highlifter.com and
www.utvactionmag.com for more information as the HLMN approaches.
MOAB RALLY ON THE ROCKS
After the mud Mecca, rock crawlers travel to Moab, Utah, for the Rally on the Rocks, the premiere red-rock experience of the season, on May 11–15. Daily guided rides cover all experience levels—from beginner to expert—with most getting a police escort through town to the trailheads. Other epic rides require trailering, and the scenery has to be seen to be believed. The 2020 ROTR was canceled by COVID, and future events are in jeopardy because of local complaints about noise, so put your stock exhaust back on and come check it out. Awesome rides with spectacular scenery are the main draw, but the vendor row, sponsor support and product raffles are second to none. Want to win a Kawasaki Teryx KRX1000? Can-Am and Kawasaki are sponsors and will have demos, so come check out the 10th annual ROTRs. We’ve covered the ROTR every year; registration is now open at www.rallyontherocks.com.

Beat the summer heat with Dunefest at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area at Winchester Bay from July 27th to August 1st. Camp in the dunes or on one of many pads, and check out the huge vendor area and many UTV and ATV competitions. Or, simply try out the unique dunes with trails through pine forests. There are also many fun events for the whole family, usually including a UTV drive-in. Remember going to the movies? Check out www.dunefest.com. Also, check out the largest dune system and festival at Idaho’s St. Anthony Sand Dunes over the Labor Day weekend at www.idahodunesrv.com.
Rock Run Recreation is one of Pennsylvania’s premier OHV recreational facilities, and RRR hosts its Summer Blast August 12–15. The seventh annual Summer Blast had a Yamaha Adventure Run, demo rides, prizes and many more family-friendly events. See www.rockrunrecreation.com for more information.
Utah is a UTV hot spot, and Kanab hosts the Red Rock ATV Jam on April 28–May 1st. Kanab has great trails and is close to Coral Pink Dunes and Bryce National Park. On April 30th-May 2nd, check out the Mormon Lake UTV Rally in Arizona. On July 15-18, try out the Rally in the Pines in Salmon, Idaho. See “Inside Scoop” for more rallies and contact websites. November 11–13th are the dates for the 2021 SxS Adventure Rally in Utah. We’ll see you there!
