330 HORSEPOWER SEGWAY SUPER VILLAIN
Two versions will be available; a hybrid, electric option as well as a gas powered option, both featuring turbo chargers. You will see up 330 hp out of the hybrid model featuring a 70KW motor pushing a massive 420 Lb FT of torque through 7.9kwh lithium batteries that are said to recharge during tire rotation (gas powered) and under braking. The 2000cc, turbo charged, gas powered Super Villain will offer an impressive 235 hp.
The chassis will feature a 104.5” wheelbase a locking differential up front, 14.6” of ground clearance, 20” of travel up front and 21” in the rear out of 3-inch shocks. Overall width will measure 76 inches from the factory with 32” tall tires mounted on 15”, 5-lug wheels bringing the curb weight up to 3196 pounds for the hybrid model. The non turbo model will weigh in at 2755 pounds.
What we don’t have full info on yet is the transmission. Sources tell us it’s a beltless, 6-speed automatic and we do see paddle shifters on the steering column. There is some sort of self learning software as well as three driving modes; Race, Climb and Normal. These specs are very comparable with the Maverick R and Polaris RZR PRO R, so if Segway can come in with a MSRP under $30,000, they should have a winner.
