35,000 MILE RZR!

It’s normal to develop a relationship with your UTV. You overcome obstacles together, share adventures together and create memories that can last a lifetime. A traveling companion you can rely on creates a special bond. The experience Dan and Janie Wayne of Gassaway, West Virginia, have had with their 2009 Polaris RZR is more than special, it’s extraordinary. The Waynes have driven their RZR almost 36,000 miles!

35,000 MILE RZR
Think you’ve got a lot of miles on your UTV? The Waynes have driven their RZR 800 nearly 36,000 miles. The machine still runs great, and the mileage is increasing.

The Waynes purchased the 35,000 mile RZR which they now call “Ole Girl,” new in 2009 and immediately fell in love with its dependability and the adventures it took them on. Dan, 69, a Vietnam War veteran and retired coal miner, says that, “No matter what kind of jam I put it in, it always got me out.” Janie, 64, said it’s “The best investment we’ve ever made,” as its longevity has astounded them.

Back in 2009, the RZR was part of the Ranger family.
The Waynes don’t let West Virginia’s winter weather get in the way of their rides. A Polaris heater and full cab keep the RZR comfortable no matter how cold it gets.

All the Waynes have done to make their RZR last is “take good care of the Ole Girl” with normal, regular maintenance as described in the machine’s owner’s manual. The machine is garaged, but they don’t do anything unusual. Janie Wayne says the machine gets driven “for lots of country miles and sightseeing, but not for horseplay or extreme mud riding.”

A winch helps the Waynes with downed trees, mud and snow on rides that regularly cover 100 miles or more on West Virginia’s wooded trails.

Ole Girl has served as an outlet for the Waynes to get out and enjoy life together, and they’ve enjoyed the vehicle so much, they’ve put nearly 36,000 miles on it. Along the way, they’ve made countless memories exploring their small town and scenic back roads of West Virginia with rides as far as 164 miles in their RZR. For years, the Waynes regularly rode 120 miles at a time, and they still average 70 to 100 miles per ride. Polaris was so moved by their story that they had to act, and ultimately decided to go out to meet the Waynes in West Virginia and surprise them with an all-new RZR for the Waynes to make another 36,000 miles’ worth of adventurous memories. The new vehicle—a RZR S 900—came fully customized with doors, roof, a winch, and front and rear bumpers to match their beloved “Ole Girl.”

The Waynes’ RZR has let them get out and enjoy life and West Virginia’s scenic, wooded terrain together.
