CJ GREAVES CLINCHES CHAMP UTV STOCK AND MOD TITLES

ON THE PODIUM: CRANDON CHAMP OFF-ROAD FINALS

Rain soaked the Crandon International short-course circuit at the first of the final two rounds of the Championship Off-Road Tour. CJ Greaves entered the Pro Mod UTV race with a decent 10-point lead over Rodney VanEperen, so Yamaha was most likely going to win the Pro Mod championship. Greaves took the lead on the super-muddy course and controlled the race, but the mid-race caution put VanEperen on CJ’s rear bumper. The two diced the rest of the way, with Rodney having a slight lead in the last corner. Greaves tucked inside for the win on Saturday ahead of VanEperen and Kyle Chaney (C-A).

CJ Greaves doubled up on titles at the Champ Off-Road finals, clinching the Pro Stock title on Saturday (shown) and Pro Mods on Sunday.

A sunny Sunday had a dry track for the final Pro Mod race of the season, and VanEperen jumped into the early lead and controlled the race. Chaney closed on Rodney and set the fastest UTV lap of the day, but he had to settle for second ahead of Andrew Carlson (Pol). Greaves had to settle for fourth on the day, which was good enough to wrap up the Champ Pro Mod UTV title by six points.

Kyle LeDuc was only supposed to be a spotter during Saturday’s Pro Stock main, but he ended up filling in for Jack LeTourneau and winning in Jack’s Arctic Cat.

In Pro Stock UTVs, Saturday saw points contender Jack LeTourneau not able to race, so Todd LeDuc raced the Speedwerx Wildcat XX. LeDuc started on the pole and braved heavy rain on his way to the Pro Stock win, ahead of the Yamaha duo of Greaves and John Holtger. Greaves had to work his way through the pack into second with limited visibility, and with points rival Jason Luburgh (Pol) finishing fourth, CJ clinched the Pro Stock championship.

On Sunday, Greaves treated the Pro Stock final as one long victory lap, taking the win over John Holtger and Jeremy Houle (A-C).
