For the second year, Kawasaki’s Team Green Racer Rewards contingency program includes UTVs, specifically the 2020-2021 Kawasaki Teryx KRX1000. Owners of KRX1000s can enter the program and become eligible to receive Racer Rewards for competing in the seven-round American Cross-Country Championships (AXCC, total payout $38,500), six-round Best in the Desert (BiTD, total payout $31,500), six-round DP4 Racing Championship ($49,500), King of the Hammers UTVs ($15,000), the four-round SxS Sports King of the Elements (KOE, $14,600), seven-round Titan Terrain Cross-Country Championship ($19,500), and the nine-round World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS, $141,750). That’s a total of $310,100, and $38,250 more than 2020!
The single-round KOH UTV win would pay $7,500 with $5,000 for second and $2,500 for third. WORCS bonuses in Pro Stock, Production 1000, or Production 1000 Stock are $3,000 for a win, $1,500 for second and $750 for third. BiTD payouts in UTV Production are the same as WORCS. AXCC payouts in Pro 1000 and Pro/Am 1000 are $1,500 for first, $750 for second and $500 for third. Race wins in DP4 Racing Production 1000, Pro Production NA and Stock 1000 are the same as AXCC payouts. Titan Terrain payouts for UTV 1000 Production are also the same as AXCC and DP4, as are the SxS Sports KOE Pro Stock payouts. Sportsman KOE payouts are $500 to win, $250 for second and $150 for third.
Team Green also slated $30,250 for Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS) which announced a 2021 schedule then folded, so maybe another UTV racing series like Championship Off-Road Tour (CORT) may be announced later. AXCC and Ultra4 Titan Terrain haven’t finalized their 2021 schedules.
Teryx KRX1000 owners should go to www.kawasaki.com/racing to register and review all of the rules for the rewards program, and racers can earn Racer Rewards in two classes per Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). There must be at least six starting entries for class payouts to be awarded, and team races like BiTD and DP4 only award one Racer Reward per podium finish. In addition to registration at www.kawasakisalesrewards.com, each participant must also submit a signed W-9 form. In a week or so, program participants will receive a Kawasaki Racer Rewards Mastercard debit-only card, and payouts are then automatically deposited to the card. Redeem at Kawasaki dealerships or 32 million retailers worldwide.
BRIEF HISTORY OF KAWASAKI TEAM GREEN
For those recently discovering OHV recreation with UTVs, here’s a brief history of Kawasaki Team Green: 2020 was a historic moment for Kawasaki Team Green; for the first time in its 39-year history Team Green included UTVs in its ground-breaking Racer Rewards and support program. Founded in 1981, Kawasaki Team Green has long supported amateur motocross racing across the USA. The immediate goal was to support Kawasaki KX racers with on-track parts and service, but the long-term goal was to scout, recruit, groom and grow national amateur champions and amass umpteen national championships for Kawasaki. Ultimately, many of these youth and amateur champions would go on to be Factory Kawasaki Pro racers and Motocross and Supercross National and World champions.
Rules are as follows:
*All racers must be at least sixteen (16) years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
*Kawasaki Racer Rewards eligible race events, race series, qualified classes and payouts are posted at www.kawasaki.com/racing. Subject to change without notice.
*Racers can earn Racer Rewards in 2 classes per VIN. Each vehicle identification number (VIN) may be registered to only one racer at a time.
*There must be a minimum of six (6) racers in the qualified class for Racer Rewards to be paid. No payments will be issued in classes of less than six (6) racers. Did Not Start (DNS) is not considered an entry.
* For all team race series, each team will be limited to one Racer Rewards payment per entry.
Any racer falsifying claims will be disqualified from the Racer Rewards program.
