As much as we hate broken CVT belts, Timken Belts is trying to fix that. Timken, the makers of high quality bearings, gears now has a premium quality line of drive belts for UTVs with 1, 2 and 3 year warranties. Yes, you heard that right, the Ultimax XP is the new CVT belt with a 3 year warranty. The XP belt is constructed with fiber-loaded advanced polymer compounds designed for specific applications and made with strong and stable aramid cord for superior resistance to shock loads. Unbelievably, this belt has a price tag starting at $89. Higher end machines like the RZR XP Turbo and Can-Am Maverick X3 will have a price tag of only $123.
There are small stipulations for the new CVT belt with 3 year warranty but they are not out of line be any means. According to Timken, This warranty does not cover any belt that was (1) improperly installed; or (2) installed on the wrong machine; or (3) used on a machine in which the drive system was modified or not in good repair; or (4) intentionally cut or damaged; or (5) used for racing. This warranty covers the purchaser of the belt and anyone else that owns the belt during the warranty period.
