Inside an extreme UTV

— Here is the machine that Jamie Coldiron in Kentucky likes to have fun in. It started out as a 2015 Polaris RZR 1000. but has been modified for hill climbing competition. These events send man and machine up a steep hill that includes twists and turns along with ruts, rocks, roots and your normal trail obstacles. In the attempt to reach the top you do stand a good chance of becoming up-side-down. That’s why UTV hill climbers need a stronger roll cage than what comes stock.

In most cases, these machines include a custom chassis along with the stronger roll cage. Jamie had one built by Justin Fraisure at Razor Sharp Customs. It is specially designed to get to the top of the toughest and most challenging hill climb trails. As you can see it provides room for the driver only.

Jamie has been participating in hill climbs for several years now and likes to run in the Southern Rock Racing Series and the Pro Rock Racing events. They take place in the eastern and southern areas of the country and have been gaining in popularity for UTV owners.

To help with the expense of racing Jamie Coldiron would like to thank his sponsors which includes Great Outdoor Powersports, Special Carrier MFG, DC Motorsports, HD Extreme Off-road, FCR, All Things UTV, Gear Grabber Shifter, Keller Performance Products, KB3 UTV Products, Raceline Wheels, King Cobra Axles, Ace Trailer Sales.
