RJ ANDERSON’S XP1K4 POLARIS RZR XP TURBO

— RJ Anderson’s XP1K action video series pushes the limits of what’s possible in a UTV, and the latest release, XP1K4, continues the tradition with wild, continuous action through a mash-up of natural and man-made obstacles, peaking in an insane backflip. Let’s look at some of the incredible stunts from the film and the incredible Polaris XP Turbo that made the madness possible.

RJ Anderson and the RZR XP Turbo bring surrealistic video-game-like action to life in the XP1K4 video.

BUILT FROM THE BOTTOM UP

With a staggering 168 horsepower, the 2017 RZR XP Turbo’s stock engine has all the power Anderson needed for the video’s high-flying, long-distance launches and huge drifts, but the rest of the machine is heavily modified. The Tony Vanillo-designed, Carr One-built 2017 RZR XP Turbo EPS uses Holz Racing Products A-arms, front sway-bar bumper, trailing arms, engine mounts and skid system. The skid system for drift-car-style operation of the rear brakes gives Anderson precise control in the production’s slides and stunts. Fully adjustable Walker Evans 2.5-inch Velocity shocks replace the Turbo’s stock compression-adjustable Fox 2.5 front and Fox 3.0 rear shocks. Walker Evans sway-bar links, small shock absorbers that replace the rigid links on the RZR XP’s rear sway bar, provide a more compliant ride than rigid links without reducing the sway bar’s ability to limit body roll.

The Mob Armor iPad Mini mount lets Anderson watch his favorite XP1K in flight movies. The MPI XP1K4 wheel is a one-off special. Racepak’s IQ3 data-logger provides info at a glance and saves it for later. The drift-car-like skid system gives Anderson precise control in the production’s slides and stunts.

Anderson’s RZR grips varied natural terrain, ramps and the treacherous wooden wall of death in the video with BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2 30-inch UTV tires on 15-inch Walker Evans beadlock wheels.

Anderson has the best seat for the movie—a single, center-mounted, custom-made MPI/PRP Alpha containment seat with a PRP five-point harness.

AN OUT-OF-CONTROL CONTROL CENTER

Anderson sits in a center mounted, custom-made MPI/PRP Alpha containment seat with a PRP five-point harness. The steering wheel and instruments were moved to the center with the seat. His XP1K4 MPI steering wheel was made specifically for the vehicle. The dash cluster features the all-new RacePak iQ3 data-logger, which provides full instrumentation and data acquisition, Switch Pros switch panel and Mob Armor iPad Mini mount designed for the RZR.

Anderson and the RZR Turbo cheat the wall of death again in XP1K4.

RADICAL STYLE FOR RADICAL ACTION

As if Anderson and the RZR’s driving and stunts don’t stand out enough, the RZR got Rigid Industries’ LED lights and the new Rigid Reflect light/mirrors. The entire car was treated to a custom Mad Media-designed XP1K4 wrap installed by Proline Wraps.

Masterful stunt driving and civil engineering collide as Anderson launches into the air from underground.
