RZR INSTRUMENT BACKLIGHT COLOR CHANGE

Dear Sarge,

I have an unusual request and am sure you are the only one who can answer it. I wish to change the backlight color on my RZR xp 1000 from red to blue. Do you know how? The unit doesn’t appear to have push in replaceable light bulbs.

Private Tin Man, it can be done but you better be very good with a fine point temperature controlled soldering iron and a Styrofoam Hot Wire Knife! Needle point tweezers will also be needed. You will need 8 OSRAM Opto Semiconductors # LB T67C-P2R1-35, Blue SMD LED’s from Mouser Electronics # 720-LBT67CP2R135Z. Remove the cluster from the Zooter, and the rubber cushion ring. Cut the case 5/8” from the top lip. Remove top bezel, pull needle straight up. Remove the 4 Torx screws and pull out the assembly. Flip over and remove 2 more Torx screws. Remove white plastic front. De-solder all SMD LED’s except the needles. Reassemble and test before gluing the case back together. If you manage to not break it, Sarge needs a picture! Or you be a “Girly-Man” and send the gauge to www.teamconcours.com, Concours Specialties, 6488 Glenway Avenue, Suite I, Cincinnati, OH 45211, (513) 481 9999 for a color change for about $100. Dismissed!
