SCOTT CHAMPION AND CAN-AM WIN MIDAMERICA OUTDOORS PRO TURBO CHAMPIONSHIP

 

MidAmerica Outdoors held its final round of its 2022 UTV Championship series over Halloween weekend, and Scott Champion went into the final Pro Turbo round with a 16-point lead over Cody Martin, with Kory Willis one point behind Martin. In Pro NA 1000s, Collin Truett had a 12-point lead over Kainan Baker. At the final round, there were 16 Pro Stocks and 15 Pro Turbos.

Kory Willis capitalized on his round 7 win and momentum, and he dominated the final round of Pro Turbos with a 1-1 weekend, while Cody Martin had a bad first moto, scoring 14th. Zack Beavers stepped up with a 3-2 for second, and Jeb Bootle put together a 5-3 for the final podium spot. Champion’s 7-6 was good for sixth overall, and he got to throw away a seventh in May. He ended up winning the championship by 15 points over the late-charging Willis. After throwing away a round, Willis and Martin tied in points, and Willis won the tie-breaker on wins.

In Pro Stocks, Kainan Baker did what he had to do and dominated with a 1-1, and round 6 winner Jacob Geisendorff took second with a 2-2. Truett rounded out the podium with a 4-3 to Shawn Hess’ 3-4, and third overall was good enough to clinch the Pro NA 1000 championship by 5 points over Baker.

Kainan’s sister Alyanna Baker clinched the Expert NA 1000 championship despite having a bad second moto on the weekend, beating Carson Vail by eight points. Bree Seek won the Women’s NA 1000 championship with a 1-2-1 over the last three rounds. After the throwaway, she defeated Josey Watkins by two points. Seek also clinched the Amateur NA 1000 championship over Watkins and Dakota Medlin (Yam).

Kennedy Singleton also clinched two championships; she clinched the 800cc & Under championship by 96 points with five TQs and three wins. In 170 Limited (9-12), Kennedy and her Hisun 250 won the title with three wins and seven podiums, finishing the last three rounds 1-1-3. Code St. Peter also had a double-title year; he topped the 170 Limited (6-8) class with seven TQs and six wins, and he also topped the 170 Modified class with another six wins and seven TQs.
