Now in its fifth year, the SxS Adventure Rally had three days of guided rides on awesome and scenic trails, demo rides, vendor rally specials, social media contests and giveaways by Yamaha, good food and more. Yamaha also had YXZ1000 and Wolverine X2/X4 XTR demos, as did Honda with Talons, and Can-Am had several models of Maverick X3s, Sports, RCs and Maxes on hand to demo drive.

Kalani Korn drops in at the Top of the World, while a guided ride takes in the spectacular scenery.
Honda introduced the 2020 Talon 1000X 4 and X 4 Live Valve to the public with rally demo rides, as Honda did at Moab’s Rally on the Rocks with their two-seat Talon Rs and Xs.

Moab Rally on the Rocks promoter Lanse Chournos and former WORCS promoter Sean Reddish got together years ago to form a fall UTV jamboree at the former WORCS headquarters, Utah’s Sand Hollow State Park. Sand Hollow has a unique mix of red sand dunes, sandstone rock formations and desert, and locals are laying new trails every year. In its fifth year, the SxS Adventure Rally had three guided ride days with 10 rides—two easy, three moderate and five difficult —per day. So, participants chose between the easiest (Top of the World loop) to the most majestic and difficult (the Ledges). Four of the five difficult trails are in the sandstone formations along the west edge of the park, and there is also a lake to overlook and cool off in during hotter months. Rides usually return by 2p.m., so participants then hit the demo rides and vendor row.

Double Sammy is one of the five difficult-level guided rides, and the start is less than a mile from rally headquarters.
Rugged Radios’ Kalani Korn makes quick work of an obstacle in the maze. Kawasaki is looking to come on board as a 2020 sponsor and possibly demo the new Teryx KRX 1000.
Even 50-inch 570s can do most, if not all, of the obstacles at the SxS Adventure Rally, and there are big dunes to play on between rides.

Three days of guided rides bombard the senses with beauty, but there is much more to the SxS Adventure Rally. CST has been title sponsor, but HCR Racing took over as title sponsor for 2019. Sponsors and vendors include D&P Performance, HCR Racing, Walker Evans Racing, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, Fuel Off-Road, Zion ATV Adventures, DirTees, R1 Industries, Moto Zoo and Camp Chef. All of these vendors donated products and even cold cash to the Friday-night raffle. Camp Chef cooked breakfast on Thursday and Friday before giving away their camp grills in Friday evening’s raffle. Saturday’s breakfast was continental, and Yamaha donated for the Friday night BBQ.

Rally sponsors donated an HCR long-travel kit, tires, wheels, Camp Chef grills and Dutch ovens, a cool cooler with speakers, harnesses, recovery ropes, Daystar cam-cans, LED lights, hats, shirts and much more for the grand raffle.
Yamaha kicked in to sponsor the Friday BBQ and provided products including a generator for the grand raffle afterwards.

The sixth annual SxS Adventure Rally will be held at Sand Hollow State Park on November 5th through 7th. There are group camping sites at Sand Hollow State Park and dry camping surrounding the reservoir, so call SHSP Visitors Center for rates and availability. Nearby lodging information is posted at Rally registration is $125 per person online. This includes a SxS AR T-shirt, three breakfasts and three days of guided rides (the BBQ is extra). On-site registration is $135 per person, not including a T-shirt.
