LOCKING DOWN DUNE SEASON Easter weekend is the unofficial end to California’s dune season, as it gets too hot later in the year for Glamis and Dumont. Temperatures are better at Pismo Beach, but the Oceano Dunes are under assault by Pismo townsfolk and government officials (see “Sideways,” November 2020), more locking down dune season. PISMO (OCEANO) DUNES SET TO REOPEN

According to the Friends of Oceano Dunes, the SVRA is entering Phase II of their reopening plan on Friday February 19th. The group  has been working non stop behind the scenes with State Parks, OHMVR Division and many others for the past year. It’s days like today where we see that hard work pay off.
