— In an earlier preview on the Wildcat XX we touched on the possibility of Textron offering a sportier version of their Stampede UTV. The latest evidence shows the machine already exists, at least as a pre-production model. The graphics on the side say HAVOC X, so we assume that is what it’ll be called… which makes sense. Following a stampede is usually havoc.
The engine in the standard Stampede is an 850 parallel twin made by Weber. We speculated that Textron would bump the size up to possibly 1000 cc to make more than the Stampede’s 80 hp. The inside report is the Havoc X is suppose to have 110 to 120 hp, so that it has more than the Polaris General’s 100 hp. That is the machine Textron is going after with their new Havoc X.
The General has suspension that’s not too far below a RZR’s, so Textron is making the effort to provide the Havoc X with quality shocks and good suspension travel numbers too. It’s going to be interesting when the UTV Action crew gets these two machines together to compare out on the trail. Until then, stayed tuned for more Havoc X info as it becomes available.
