Getting out in nature and enjoying the great outdoors is the best way to avoid sicknesses of any kind. However, as the CDC (Centers For Disease Control and Prevention) is now telling us, gathering in large crowds is not a good idea. So, in reaction, certain promotors large and small are starting to cancel various UTV events due to Corona Virus fears.

To help you change, cancel or make new plans, we will keep a running list of upcoming UTV related event cancellations. No matter what, don’t give up your riding plans all together it may be that you need to go on a trail ride next weekend instead of going to the track. So far, this weekends WORCS Lake Havasu round and next weekends San Felipe 250 are still a go. Furthermore, the hosts of Rally On The Rocks, May 12-15 say in a statement below, the show will go on. We agree, the more open area events should still go on and let’s not let the virus cripple the nation while we are waiting for it to run its course. For the time being, be safe and wash your hands.

A difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Lasernut Stampede, the first of three Lasernut Western Regional Ultra4 events this year. We have consulted experts from a variety of fields and believe under the current circumstances our decision is ultimately what is best.

We want to be clear that as of today we are not being forced to cancel this event by any involved authorities. However, with the uncertainty that exists surrounding the COVID-19 situation a last minute mandated cancellation was probable.

The Reno National Championships held in late October will now be counted as a points event for the Ultra4 Lasernut Western Regional Series as well as the Ultra4 Nitto National Championship.

The rest of the 2020 Ultra4 Regional Series events will run as scheduled starting with:

Battle in Bluegrass (east) – Rush, Kentucky – April 17, 2020

El Rey de Las Bajas (west) – San Felipe, Baja California – May 15, 2020

After lengthy and thorough discussions amongst the internal management and operations team, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Presented by GEICO has reluctantly decided to reschedule the rounds of the season opening race of the 2020 season due to weather. The OPTIMA Batteries SoCal Shootout Presented by K&N Filters from San Bernardino, California’s Glen Helen Raceway was originally scheduled to serve as a weekend doubleheader on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, however, the weeklong forecast leading into race weekend is filled with rain, presenting an array of potential challenges that forced the series to make a proactive announcement in the best interest of all parties.

“This was not a decision that we came to lightly. We know that our competitors have put in months of preparation for this weekend, and we know our passionate fanbase has been eagerly awaiting the start of the 2020 season,” explained Ritchie Lewis, Director of Race Operations. “From the moment we became aware of the weather forecast and were subsequently forced to consider making such a difficult decision, we took every single element into consideration. Ultimately, the ability to host a successful event, both for our competitors and for our fans, was the driving force behind our decision.

We look forward to kicking off the 2020 season in a matter of weeks in Chandler (Arizona).” Due to the rescheduling of the opening two rounds, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series has made an effort to reinstate these two days of racing later in the season, which allows the championship to remain an 11 round series. As a result, the annual visit to Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, Nevada, will add a round to become a two-day affair, with the addition of a night race for Round 5 on Friday, July 24, followed by Round 6 on Saturday, July 25. Additionally, the October visit to Glen Helen Raceway, the penultimate race of the 2020 season, will move from a single day event to a weekend doubleheader, with Round 9 on Saturday, October 3, followed by an afternoon showcase for Round 10 on Sunday, October 4.

In response to the growing concerns over Coronavirus your ROTR team has and will be enacting the following policies and safety precautions. Yesterday we were in meetings with Grand County local government health officials. The fact that we are about 2 months away gives us time to react. Your health and welfare are our number one concern.

• If you have any type of flu-like symptoms, please stay home and let us know. We will refund your money.

• Cleanliness is next to godliness so there will be numerous hand wash stations placed around the arena area. This is on top of the existing facilities provided by the arena.

• The Rally is a social event, so we use best practices as they evolve.

• The Grand County Council has asked that we follow all of their guidelines as they adapt to the concerns of the public.

Also, a reminder, make sure you are street legal (it’s the law) before you come. This will insure you have a great experience. If you would prefer not becoming street legal, come prepared to trailer to trail heads. If you are from outside of Utah and need info on how to get street legal, please refer to our “First time to the Rally” page by visiting: https://rallyontherocks.com/1st-time-to-rotr/ (It is super cheap.)

High Lifter Mud Nationals Required to Postpone 2020 Event

High Lifter Mud Nationals prides itself on offering the best experience to our powersports, mud ride loving fans. Due to an official state order, we regret to announce High Lifter Mud Nationals is required to postpone to a later date.

The postponement of this event is among the many precautions Arkansas is taking to reduce the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.

“The show must go on” is in the High Lifter Mud Nationals DNA, but we recognize and respect the choice made by the governor’s office and local community. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our attendees, staff, vendors, artists and the community.

High Lifter Mud Nationals plans to work with Hillarosa ATV Park and the Hempstead County to find an alternative date in 2020. We appreciate and value the support from powersports industry partners, offroad fans, Hillarosa, and Hempstead County for this annual event.

High Lifter Mud Nationals will be in touch with all ticket holders, vendors and sponsors as soon as possible. A FAQ document will be available on the High Lifter Mud Nationals official website, www.mudnatevents.com, to address immediate questions and concerns.

Though it is true that our March 2020 event will no longer take place in the way we intended, the postponed event will provide the one-of-a-kind experience attendees have come to expect at High Lifter Mud Nationals each year.

SCORE-INTERNATIONAL announced today, this months San Felipe 250 has been moved to May and the Baja 500 has been moved to later in June. Below is the announcement from www.score-international.com.

Round 1 of the four-race 2020 SCORE World Desert Championship has been rescheduled with the new race date of May 9 in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico.

Mexico’s Federal Government has issued a National decree of safe distancing to be in effect from March 23 through April 19. Further, the Mexican Federal Government has mandated the rescheduling or canceling of all non-essential events of 5,000 people or more in the entire country of Mexico.

Additionally, SCORE has announced a date change for the 52nd SCORE Baja 500 race week from June 3-7 to June 16-21.

“In order to provide teams with as much time as possible to prepare between races, we have also rescheduled this year’s SCORE Baja 500,” stated Jose A. Grijalva, SCORE President/Race Director. “We sincerely appreciate the patience, support and understanding from all of our racers and sponsors as well as the coordination with Mexican Federal, State and Municipal Authorities, but under the circumstances that have impacted day to day activities around the World, SCORE International has determined that these changes are the best options or everyone involved.”

“We also want to remind teams, crews, media and the fans the importance of following preventative measures such as washing hands regularly, avoiding direct contact with other individuals and covering your mouth when coughing,” added Grijalva.

SCORE will continue to monitor the health crisis and develop a more detailed schedule of events for each race over the next several weeks.
