UTV RACING HEATS UP THIS SUMMER

TOP UPCOMING 2022 UTV RACE SERIES ROUNDS

Talk about man made global warming, the 2022 UTV racing series are causing localized hot spots across the country this summer, despite WORCS and other UTV series taking a summer break. Next up this weekend, the red-hot Championship Off-Road Tour (CORT or Champ) heads to Dirt City in Lena, Wisconsin, for the seventh and eighth rounds. At the halfway point of Champ, Brock Heger leads Pro Stock points over CJ Greaves with four wins to Greaves’ lone win at round 6. After a DNF that looked like 2022 will haunt Kyle Chaney like 2021 did, Chaney won three in a row, and he sits just 8 points back on Rodney VanEpren in Pro Mods. The Champ series moves to Bark River in mid-August and caps off with Crandon over Labor Day weekend.

CJ Greaves made the switch from long-time ride Yamaha to a Polaris RS1, and he has returned to his winning ways in Champ Pro Stock.

In its second year, the Red Bull UTV Scrambles series holds its second of four rounds this weekend, presenting Pro and Amateur UTV racers the High-Desert Scramble at Nephi, Utah, south of Salt Lake City.

BEST IN THE DESERT VEGAS-TO-RENO

Best in the Desert kicks off the second half of its 6-race series with its version of the Daytona 500, the longest off-road race in America. The Vegas to Reno began as a dirt bike race, and Casey Folkes added trucks, buggies and ATVs 27 years ago, creating what we know today as Best in the Desert. The 495-mile race will be preceded by Time Trials on August 11 with a new split-lane short course, and UTVs take off at 11:00AM. The race will have the world’s top UTV racers including Dakar champions Ricky Brabec and Austin Jones.

ALL-NEW OUTLAW WEST UTV/ATV/DB RACE SERIES

The Texas Outlaw Series heads west for the inaugural Outlaw West UTV, ATV, and dirt bike series round at Iron Mine MX in Cedar City, Utah, on August 26-28. Series champions will be crowned after three more monthly rounds with title sponsorship from Can-Am. Better yet, no rounds conflict with WORCS, so WORCS regulars have more chances for Pro payouts and contingencies for 2022.

LABOR DAY AT MIDAMERICA OUTDOORS

Holiday weekends at MidAmerica Outdoors are packed solid with racing and plenty of family fun. Labor Day will see the sixth round of MAO’s $375,000 Short-Course UTV racing series, along with pit-bike racing and lots more planned. Collin Truett is leading Pro Stock points over series champion Kainan Baker, and early Pro Turbo points leader Scott Champion is battling back to catch current leader Kyle Chaney with a Round 5 win. There will plenty of action in youth and amateur clqasses as well.

TEXAS OUTLAW HAS A NEW HOME

The $275,000 Texas Outlaw moved across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to Oak Hill Raceway northeast of Decatur, and the midway point of the series crowned Youth 170/250 World Champions earlier this month.
