WHERE TO RIDE AND RACE YOUR UTV
ARAPEEN UTV JAMBOREE AT EMERY UTAH
Of the 10 yearly UTV jamborees in Utah, only a couple are hosted on private lands, and only the Arapeen OHV Retreat is hosted by a premiere wing-shooting lodge. With trails in the San Rafael Swell and three days of guided rides Thursday September 5th through Saturday the 7th, the Arapeen OHV Retreat offers spectacular scenery in the Manti-LaSal Mountains and rides for beginner to advanced drivers.
Most rides require trailering to the trailhead, but the Hole Trail ride leaves from the ranch and hunting lodge. Thursday’s Behind the Reef is an advanced ride for 50-inch machines, while Friday’s Fix-it Pass ride is also advanced for all UTVs. This ride goes through Eagle Canyon and across Head of Sinbad to Indian petroglyphs before climbing Fix-it Pass. There are five total guided rides.
After rides, there is world-class fly fishing, pheasant hunting, catered dinners, music and bench racing around the fire pit. Saturday, there will be a raffle drawing and awards presentation followed by live entertainment. The Arapeen OHV Retreat costs $155 per person including three daily rides and four breakfasts, three lunches and three dinners plus a ticket to the raffle. RV campers will pay $205-$256 (two to four nights). Single-day ride alongs are $25 or $55 with meals.
Castle Valley Outdoors also has spectacular lodges for rent, and tent camping is $25 per night. They also have ATV rentals, and pheasant season starts in early September and runs through March. Hunt, fish and ride!
