WHERE TO RIDE AND RACE YOUR UTV

SAN JUAN ATV/UTV SAFARI SEPTEMBER 12-14

— Southeastern Utah’s Monticello and Blanding host the 2019 San Juan ATV/UTV Safari September 12-14. Three days and two nights of guided rides treat jamboree participants to 18 different trail options with three experienced guides per trail. Of the 18 trail rides, three are 50-inch only, while the other 15 are accessible by wider UTVs. Trail mileages range from 20 to 76 miles, and trail ratings range from Easy to Difficult. Most require trailering to the trailhead.

Southeast Utah is a miniature Monument Valley with beautiful red-rock formations and early-American historical sites.

Besides the three days of guided rides in gorgeous Utah, there are two guided night rides and a banquet and raffle on Saturday night. San Juan County is rich in Native American history with several ruins of ancient dwellings, including Hovenweep National Monument, Mule Canyon, Butler Wash, Edge of the Cedars and the Lowrey Ruins, along with several petroglyph sites.

Originally an ATV jamboree, the San Juan Safari has UTV-accessible trails with three rides limited to 50-inch UTVs.

Registration is $175 per person or $300 for a family or group of four, and the safari is limited to 350 riders. The registration fee includes three daily rides, night ride(s) and the Safari Banquet; see www.sanjuansafari.com for lodging information and registration form.
