The second of four UTV Takeover jamborees for 2019 will be held June 26-30 at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, north of Coos Bay, with an expected attendance exceeding 10,000 people. General Admission tickets are $25; kids 12 and under are free. Camping is as low as $30 per night. VIP tickets are $75 and include more than $185 in swag, huge discounts on Vendor Row, and front-row seats for Huckfest and Wheeliefest.
Headquartered at Box Car Hill Campground at Coos Bay, the Oregon UTV Takeover has five days and four nights of fun and free activities for UTVs, ATVs, bikes, families and children. Polaris will put on demo rides with RZR Turbos, RS1s and 1000s and sponsor the main stage, along with Florence Yamaha, while Rugged Radios sponsors daily Youth ATV hands-on training. The Salem Sand Club sponsors group dune rides by day, and Whip It Light Rods will put on night rides. Bombshell Gear sponsors the UTV drag races, while DCP presents the ATV sand drags. There were also UTV and ATV barrel races and short-course events.
Rockford Fosgate sponsors the dirt bike and ATV Huckfest. There are also day and night Show-n-Shine contests, daily swag raffles, a non-stop Kids Zone, live music nightly sponsored by PCI Radios, and ATC 70 Olympics. More family fun includes a treasure hunt, a dozen mini games, group campfire with rock-and-roll bingo, wheelie contests, UTV and Jeep dune tours, sand-tire toss, and one-off events.
The 900-acre event property has 100 dry-camping sites on pavement, 300 sand camping sites and 32 full hookup RV sites. After five days and four nights of free fun and camping in the dunes, MDT Discount Tires sponsors the Sunday Air Station, and several bulldozers are on hand to pull campers out of the loose dune sand. We’ll also report on the South Dakota UTV Takeover (July 24-28) and Little Sahara UTV Takeover (September 25-29).
