Seven days of diverse, action-packed racing events are making this year’s Sturgis Buffalo Chip Moto Stampede race series the premier action center of the Sturgis M/C Rally. From the AFT Buffalo Chip TT and RSD Super Hooligan to street drags, Dirt Riot Off-Road UTV races, Gambler 500 Mini Bike Show Down and a crazy Hooptie X, audiences will have an up-close viewing experience paired with hot rock concerts they won’t find in any other venue in the world. Moto Stampede kicks off Friday August 2nd and 3rd at the Buffalo Chip Powersports Complex with Dirt Riot Off-Road Racing. Time trials for the Dirt Riot Endurance off-road obstacle course are held noon to 6:00PM Friday, with races held the same times on Saturday. There are classes for UTVs, Ultra-4 cars and trucks, and Super Mod Trail machines, and they all race on a short-course track with tabletops and various man-made obstacles. Entry to the Friday time trials are free, while entry to the championship races on Saturday requires a separate ticket from campground events.
Held in conjunction with the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Moto Stampede also has four-wheelers covered with the Sunday Gambler 500 Rallycross, starting at 11:00AM August 4th at the Crossroads. Next, American Flattrack presents the Buffalo Chip TT with opening ceremonies at 5:30PM and mains starting at 6:00PM. The TT races will also be aired on NBCSN on August 10th.
Racing fun continues on Monday with the 11:00AM Gambler 500 Mini Bike Showdown at the amphitheater with dirt and pavement sections. Next, the Celebrity Motocross starts at 1:00PM at the Powersports complex and Best Whip contest at 7:00PM with Carey Hart, Ricky Carmichael, Jeff Ward, Doug Henry, and Brian Manley. Tuesday features the Gambler 500 Mini Bike Endurocross at 11:00AM and J&P Hooligan Hill Climb at noon at the Powersports Complex.
Wednesday boasts the Gambler Mini Bike 100-mile marathon starting at 11:00AM, RSD Super Hooligan Races, and Street drags. On Thursday, the Gambler 500 Hooptie X begins at noon at the CrossRoads. The Thursday, August 8th, event lets UTV and car pilots air out their machines on the Hooptie X launch ramp and go big.
