GLEN HELEN RACEWAY TO HOLD LOORRS UTV RACES JULY 24-25 2020

It seems the Covid-hits just keep coming. Idaho’s Rally in the Pines has been cancelled for 2020, with a very tentative 2021 date of July 15-18, and so has Oregon’s Dunefest, which was set for July 21-26. The First two rounds of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS), which were to be held in Sparks, Nevada, had to be cancelled, so they were moved to Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, California, on July 24-25th. LOORRS will have classes for Youth 170 and 570, 1000s and Turbos, along with three classes of Trophy Karts. Iowa ATV Hare Scrambles and AXCC hold a joint round in Iowa on July 18th. Cody Miller got muddy in the AXCCs last year, but Kyle Hart won the Pro Turbo title.

July 18th, the Iowa ATV Hare Scrambles and American Xtreme Cross-Country series will hold a joint round at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, on Greenhurst Farms. On Saturday July 28th, Mini UTVs (170 Stock and Mod) will race 10:15-10:45AM, Amateur UTVs (A, B, Single Seat, Masters 45+, Women, 570/Lites) race 2:30-3:30PM and the UTV Pros (Turbo, 1000, RS1, Pro-Am Turbo, Pro-Am 1000) race 4:30-5:45PM. Youth UTV entries are $50, Amateur UTV entries are $100, Pro-Ams pay $150, Pro RS1 costs $200, and Pro classes are $350.  See www.axccracing.com and www.iatvhss.com.

Arizona Off-road Promotions will hold the Payson GP July25-26; July is in the Monsoon season, so be ready for mud!

AZOP Promotions had to cancel the July 11-12 Morman Lake Grand Prix in Arizona, but the July 25-26 Payson GP is still on. The GP has several bike, ATV and UTV classes; Youth UTVs (170, 250) practice Saturday at 8:00AM, and 570s get a lap of practice at 1:10PM. All other UTVs practice at 3:40 PM for 50 minutes. On Sunday, Youth UTVs race for 30 minutes starting at 8:15AM, 570s race for 40 minutes at 12:20PM, and the big UTV race is 50 minutes starting at 2:30PM. See www.azopracing.com.

Score pushed the Baja 500 back to August 4-9 after cancelling the first race altogether.

Score pushed the Baja 500 back again to August 4-9th in Ensenada, Baja, Mexico. Best in the Desert resumed racing with last weekend’s Silver State 300, and the next round is the Vegas-to-Reno Desert Classic on August 12-15. Texas has had to roll back its reopening, but so far the last Texas UTV Race Series rounds on July 25th and August 22nd are a go.
