WHERE TO RIDE AND RACE YOUR UTV: UTV WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
UTV WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HAVASU ARIZONA OCTOBER 7-11 2020
A site has been chosen for the 2020 UTV World Championships; the sixth annual UTV Worlds will be held at Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The UWCs will feature multiple days of UTV racing and festivities, including a 60-mile Poker Run, Pro-class qualifying events, pre-running, a world-class UTV festival wrapped around tech inspection and contingency, and two days of intense UTV competition.
The UTVs Worlds will be held on all-new courses designed by the Martelli Brothers, Race Director Tony Vanillo, and Event Manager Kilian Hamlin. This announcement comes after 18 months of careful research and development with close co-ordination with the lake Havasu BLM office.
Racing will be split across two days with Friday October 9th and Saturday October 10th hosting four Short-Course classes and six Desert Long-Course classes. Promoters promise the totally revamped UWCs will improve on the racing format, schedule and amenities available to friends and families of race teams, and the event will be more spectator-friendly than ever before.
Joshua Martelli said, “This is really the perfect progression for the event as we have grown from just under 200 to well over 400 race teams. This new location allows us to triple the size of the Poker Run, qualify our top Pro desert and short-course racers, allow pre-running so racers can preview the race course, and basically give us a blank canvas to work with in terms of course design and layout.”
The new venue will allow KOH-like drive-in spectating from the ridges overlooking the race action, along with ample camping opportunities. Details on racer registration and a complete schedule will be published on the UTV World Championships website and social media pages in the next few weeks, so stay tuned to UTVActionMag.com for updates.
