Northwest of Knoxville, two premiere off-road parks are located in northern Tennessee close to Interstate 75. Brimstone Recreation is located in Huntsville and hosts two major UTV jamborees a year – the White Knuckle Event over memorial Day weekend (May 24-26) and Brimstone Paragon on September 20-22. Windrock Park is in Oliver Springs and hosts the Spring “Shindig” Jam April 25-27 and the Coal Creek Fall Jam October 17-19, along with a Southern Rock Racing Series UTV round March 8-9, 2019.

Brimstone Recreation llc. is located on the Cumberland Plateau which is right  in the middle of the super scenic Appalachia Mountains. A hunters and outdoorsman’s dream, Brimstone manages 19,196 acres of heavily wooded land with over 300 miles of marked OHV trails and prime year round hunting. Brimstone Recreation offers enthusiast’s a wide array of outdoor activities alongside some of the best, most technical UTV and ATV trails in the world. Camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, river rafting, and Kayaking are other activities, and there are plenty of dry camping sites, RV hookups and cabins to rent.

The White Knuckle Event has nightly country concerts, manufacturer demo rides, a large vendor row with jamboree specials on UTV accessories, trail rides, drag races and obstacle-course races for many classes of UTVs and ATVs. Winning these races seeds you into the premiere event – the Wild Mountain Rampage (WMR) a race into the mountains on Brimstone’s easier trails. The WKE WMR is changed every year to make it more fun and interesting, and the 13th annual event promises to be the “raddest ever” with Fearless Zorb Bowling, Action Figure Face Off, Shooting for the Stars, Triple Hit and Nitro A”Maze”ing Connection at stations along the course. Winning these competitions-within-a-race earns extra points, along with points earned for winning the drags, obstacle course and WMR itself. Ten top points earners get to pick one of 10 keys, and the one that starts the WMR Ultimate UTV wins a Yamaha UTV!

Brimstone’s Paragon has the same format and activities as the WKE, but there are no organized rides, as most participants are yearly-pass holders, and the WMR changes yet again. Cruise the trails and find the Brimstone Gnome, Mad Hatter and Joker for more chances to win. The Paragon WMR includes Wicked Brimstone Pong, the Maze Daze, National Guard Battle Balls, more Fearless Zorb Bowling and the Gnome Lockout. Finalists will be picked at the Saturday night Big & Rich concert for a 2019 Yamaha Wolverine X2!

And the Wild Mountain Rampage winner is…maybe you? You can’t win if you don’t enter.

Windrock Park is an another multi-use facility, but it also is a big energy producer with oil and gas wells and windmill arrays. With 73,000 acres of beautiful forests and access roads to the energy installations, Windrock Park cut OHV trails to connect the dirt roads to create another Tennessee OHV heaven with about 350 miles of trails. It also has a shooting range, an RV park, a Pro shop, a downhill mountain-bike course, and camping from tent sites to cabin rentals. Trails range from easy to black-diamond difficult as larger 4x4s and rock crawlers claw up the huge limestone ledges.

Windrock’s Shindig will feature concerts by Justin Moore, Riley Green and Tenille Townes, and the gnarly trails of Windrock Park are also on the Southern Rock Racing Series.

UTV racers test their hill climbing skills at Windrock Park.
