ANYTHING FOR SPEED! Plenty of power in the dunes
Light weight and incredible power make dune hillshooters some of the fastest ATVs ever built. In this highly specialized world, two stroke engines are prized for their low weight and high output per cc, and the sound they make is unforgettable. Many builders begin with popular production two strokes like the Yamaha Banshee and Honda ATC 250R, but by the time the builds are complete the custom creations are barely recognizable.
Extended swingarms, lightened frames and suspension are just a few changes made to some of these high octane dune monsters. If you have ever been to the dunes before on a stock or slightly modified ATV, ATC or UTV, you know the feeling of wanting much more power. There is something about ripping up a sand dune with the throttle held wide open that keeps someone wanting to do nothing else in life but get more power out of their machine. While, a lot of these custom dune hillshooters and built solely to play in the sand for the occasional dune trip, there is a whole world of Sand Drag Racing out there!
