YAMAHA’S NEW 500 HP ELECTRIC CAR MOTOR

Yamaha’s new 500 hp electric car motor was recently announced as a very compact, lightweight power unit for roadgoing supercars, but the technology could make ultra high horsepower UTVs possible. The 800-volt power unit was developed to allow multiple motors to power the same vehicle, so the horsepower ceiling is nearly limitless.

Yamaha already produces electric bicycles and electric motors from 47 to 268 horsepower for a variety of vehicle applications, so the company is showing a lot of interest in electric vehicle power. Freedom from the 1000cc gasoline engine limit could make electric UTVs the most exciting models yet!
